Metal Engraving has been around for over 600 years. Until the 20th Century, engraving was for royalty and the wealthy. Today we use engraving to decorate our possessions that we are passionate about. Such as Dad’s gun, a favorite knife, or a special piece of jewelry. We use engraving on our motorcycles, and hot-rods, to make them more ornate. This also helps with identification if the items are ever stolen.
Jeremy is a Coloado Native and a US Navy Vietnam Veteran. In 1954 at the age of 4 he was already putting his talents to work, when he began drawing. A Second-generation master engraver, he began engraving in 1973 and in 1979 Steel Tattoos was Established. He was one of the first engravers to engrave on motorcycle parts. Many motorcycle magazines have done articles on him and his art.
Jeremy’s primary form of art is freehand engraving. Which he has taken a step further and offers full color freehand engraved automotive art. He also offers engraving of firearms, knives, guitar pickguards, motorcycle and hot rod parts. Plus traditional ink on paper art and design services for T-Shirts and business publications.
In the Mid 1980’s he began to develop his full color freehand engraved automotive art. This took many years to perfect, but he finally achieved the results he was looking for. Using the techniques he has developed, he then puts it into a digital format and loads it into his computer. Making it possible to reproduce the orginal engraving into any product his customers desire. Jeremy has combined 1400th century freehand engraving and modern digital technology to produce some of the most unique and exciting artwork on the market today.
