Pietro has brought his best and favorite family recipes to the forefront. Peter has joined his Southern Italian family's heritage with those of his favorites from a true New York upbringing. His many years living in Astoria, Queens brings the flavors of the Eastern Meditteranean with Greek and Cyprian infusions, and his education in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and The Bronx have allowed him to meld into the menu some Israeli, and Arabic favorites. The pasta alone will have you eating the sauce with your spoon once you are done. The New Zealand lamb and the fresh fish dishes will transport your senses. The rib eye steak is a portion and price to make the big beef restaurants wonder how they do it. The name ALEO is derived from the parents of the owner (Peter). The "A" in Aleo is from Antoinette, Pete's mother and the "Leo" is from his father, Leonardo. Antoinette is a retired New York City schoolteacher who has roots from Bari, (in Puglia) Italy, Leonardo is a retired mason/bricklayer. Peter (or Pietro) is the host of this beautiful place that boasts an award winning garden.
